Proof of Play
Proof of Play records playback events from your screens and turns them into reporting and analytics. It answers the questions every signage operator needs: what played, when, on which screen, and for how long.
How it works
- The player app captures playback events as content is displayed.
- Events are batched and submitted to the platform periodically (for example, every 15 minutes).
- The platform stores the events and surfaces them in analytics dashboards.
Each event records the content item, the zone it played in, start and end timestamps, the duration, and a unique event ID from the player.
Enable Proof of Play
- Enable the Proof of Play add-on for your team.
- Toggle Proof of Play on for each screen you want to track. You can enable it team-wide and then disable it on specific screens where reporting isn't needed.
The per-screen toggle lives on the screen's detail page (see Manage screens).
Reporting and analytics
Once events are flowing, use the Proof of Play dashboards to:
- Filter by screen, content item, and time range.
- See how long each piece of content played and how often.
- Verify that scheduled content actually aired.
This is especially valuable for ad-supported networks, where proof of playback is needed for billing and compliance.
Next steps
- Enable Proof of Play per screen in Manage screens.
- Review scheduling to plan what airs when.
