HTML packages

HTML packages are self-contained content bundles — HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and assets — served to screens for content that falls outside the Creative Builder's layer model. Use them for interactive widgets, third-party dashboards, embedded web pages, or anything you've built as a web app.

When to use an HTML package​

  • An interactive menu or wayfinder built as a web app.
  • A third-party dashboard or data widget you want to embed.
  • Content that needs custom JavaScript the Creative Builder doesn't support.

For standard designed content (images, text, shapes, animation), use a creative instead — it's simpler and publishes to an HTML package automatically.

Upload an HTML package​

  1. Go to HTML Packages and click Upload.
  2. Choose your packaged content bundle.
  3. Xignage generates a thumbnail and makes the package available to playlists.

Preview​

Click Preview on any HTML package to see it render in the browser exactly as a screen would, before you assign it anywhere.

Organise​

Like media, HTML packages support folders and can be moved between them without breaking references. Files and assets inside a package are served directly to screens.

Publish a creative as a package​

When you publish a creative, Xignage compiles it into an HTML package automatically. You can also publish a creative as a new package or update an existing one, so your designed content and your hand-built packages live side by side.
