Upload media

The media library is the central store for the images and videos shown on your screens. Anything you want to display — whether directly in a playlist or as a layer inside a creative — starts here.

Upload a file

1. Go to Media in the sidebar.
2. Click Upload and choose one or more image or video files.
3. Wait for the upload to finish. Xignage generates a thumbnail and reads metadata automatically.

Supported types include common image formats (JPEG, PNG) and video formats (MP4 and similar). For each item the library records:

• Content type (image or video)
• Dimensions (width × height)
• File size
• Video duration (for video files)

Organise with folders

Create folders to keep large libraries manageable. You can:

• Create, rename, and delete folders.
• Move media between folders — references in playlists and creatives are preserved, so moving a file never breaks anything that uses it.

Tag media

Tags make it easy to find content later. Add tags to individual items and use the tag browser or search to filter the library. Tags are also exposed through the media API for programmatic access.

Sharing and visibility

Control who can see and use an item through the sharing controls. This is useful when you want to keep stock footage or client-specific assets separate within a shared team library.

HTML packages

For interactive or third-party content that doesn't fit the image/video model — web apps, dashboards, embedded pages — use HTML packages instead. See HTML packages.
