Create playlists
A playlist is an ordered sequence of media items and creatives. Playlists are what you assign to screens (or to zones within a layout), and they're the most common way to get content onto a display.
Create a playlist
- Go to Playlists and click New Playlist.
- Give it a name.
- Add items: choose media from your library or published creatives.
- Drag items to reorder them.
- Set a duration per item if you want it to display for a specific length of time.
The playlist's total duration is calculated automatically from the item durations, so you can see at a glance how long a full loop takes.
Organise playlists
- Folders — group related playlists together.
- Tags — filter and find playlists by topic.
- Move — move a playlist between folders without breaking assignments.
Playlist types
Xignage supports a couple of playlist flavours:
- Standard playlists — the default, assignable to zones within a layout.
- Screen playlists — scoped to a single screen.
- Multiscreen playlists — built for multiscreen displays, where each screen in the wall renders its own slice of the content.
Assign a playlist to a screen
- Open the target screen (or its layout).
- Assign the playlist to a zone.
- Publish the change so the screen picks it up.
Schedule a playlist
Want a playlist to play only at certain times? Create a schedule that targets it.
Next steps
- Divide a screen into regions with layouts & zones.
- Control when it plays with scheduling.
