Schedule content

Schedules control when content appears on your screens. You can, for example, show a breakfast menu in the morning and a dinner menu in the evening, or run a promotion only on weekdays.

What you can schedule

Schedules can target:

  • A screen or screen group — what plays on that screen and when.
  • A zone — content within a specific region of a layout.
  • A playlist or individual playlist item — when a specific item is active within a playlist's loop.
  • A creative, media item, or advert.

This hierarchical targeting means you can schedule at whatever granularity makes sense — from an entire screen down to a single item.

Create a schedule

  1. Go to Screens and select a screen (or open the schedulable item you want to schedule).
  2. Open the Schedule tab.
  3. Click Add time slot and choose a playlist, days, and a start/end time.
  4. Save. The screen picks up the new schedule within a minute.

Schedule rules

Each schedule can combine:

  • Date range — a start and/or end date.
  • Time range — start and end times of day.
  • Days of the week — for example, weekdays only or weekends only.
  • Recurrence — once, daily, weekly, monthly, or a custom interval.
  • Priority — higher-priority schedules override lower ones when they overlap.
  • Timezone — schedules run in the timezone of the site the screen belongs to, so a multi-site deployment runs on local time at each location.

Overlapping time slots

When two time slots overlap, the slot with the higher priority wins. Plan your slots to avoid gaps where no slot is active — the screen falls back to its default playlist when nothing is scheduled.

Active/inactive toggle

You can enable or disable a schedule without deleting it. This is handy for seasonal campaigns you want to switch on and off each year.

Calendar view

The Schedules calendar shows every schedule across your team in one view, making it easy to spot gaps and overlaps at a glance.
